Causes of Mental Retardation

Causes of Mental Retardation:-
                                                     
       Mental retardation can start at any time below 18y. It can be caused by disease/ injury and any abnormal activity. It can be starting in natal, pre-natal & post natal. There is lots of cause which affect this age group like lead poisoning, in-born error or genetic issues etc.

Pre-natal (reason for disability before birth)

ü  Genetic cause
ü  Age at the time of pregnancy ( below 18 or above 35)
ü  Any disease if mother have in first three month
ü  Not use a balanced diet by female
ü  If mother & child have a different R-H factor
ü  Use of X-ray at high rate
ü  Use of medicine without consult with doctor
ü  Health problem during pregnancy
ü  Use of alcohol by female like cigarette, wine or drugs ( education for MR)

ü  Any injury during pregnancy
ü  Use of injection at a fix interval during pregnancy
ü  Small gap between two or more children

ü  Any types of infection like jaundice fewer, mind fewer etc

  Identification of Mental Retardation:-
                                                                                 There are a lot of difference between MR & normal child because of learning, writing and remember anything, yet they did not have any physical disability But they are not able to make a condition with the other normal child. Some reason related with pre-natal, natal, post-natal. Here are some symptoms to identify a mental retardation child:-

Ø  They lost which they are reading or they remain for a little time
Ø  Low level of a concentration
Ø  They much depend on present example or what they see
Ø  Expect a suddenly result / price

Ø  Lack of coordination
Ø  Feel difficulty in their daily activity
Ø  Feel difficulty to understand, anything & to make view

Defination of Mental Retardation

Mental Retardation:-

              We normally call it MR. It is a conditionally disability. It represented by a low intelligence or low adaptive skills in children, it’s normally found at natal, post natal stage in life. It is measured by two ways, first is intelligence quotient & second is adaptive skills.

   Due to this condition the child have a weak growth physically & mentally. It is not a disease but it is a condition. In which mind will not be develop due to this children start to understand very slowly. The IQ ( Intelligence Quotients ) level and adaptive skills both are include the ability to speak & understand, living skills, write, read, self care, social direction.

 In short, we say that these types of children unable to day by day activity like other children, so they require special care from their family member, teacher (special educator) and  society so that, they develop them self & try to live like a normal child.

  In different age group, you found multiple types of MR related activity. In this different area, we found less positive behaviour.

Ø  VisualDisability – Visually impairment child are those types of children which are enable to see the picture very exactly, may be its nearby or far way. 

Ø  HearingDisability – That person who have problem in hearing / listen. It’s found in side, middle or outside of ear.

Ø  Mental Retardation – Mental Retardation is a condition which starts from natal, pre-natal or post natal, due to this reason the child have a weak growth by physically and mentally. It’s not a disease but it’s a condition in which mind will not be develop due to this children start to understand very slowly.

Ø  LocoMotor Disability – A disability occur when a person have a injury or accident and its damage one part of the body & it’s see very clear, it mean this person have a problem in sitting, walking to carry out anything & to jump etc.
   
Ø  LearningDisability – There are some child who has all ability but they are weak to understand process. This is called learning disability. 
  
Ø  Leprosy – In this diseases our skin get spotted and we start to have less temperature and sensation in our body, in such disease we also have blisters and wound on our body.

Ø  ADD& ADHD – ADD means Attention Deficit Disorder its mean lack of considerate/careful thought. ADHD means Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.

Ø  Autism – A situation or condition which special behavior of a child is the main problem due to this the relationship with the outside environment is breakdown. Mostly it’s found in the age of 2 – 5 years.
  
Ø  Mentalillness – Mental illness is a condition /illness in which an unbalance situation occur in a person’s behaviour in different situation, to call a person mental illness is necessary that the behaviour of a person influence the daily activity.


Ø  MultipleDisabilities - When a person has more than one disability is normally none as multiple disabilities.
